The Enduring Empire
In the far north, across frozen lakes, snow covered mountains and rocky valleys extends the vast Gnollish empire. Ruled by their Demonic King, Ghaal’krûk, the Gnolls of the North are bloodthirsty and vicious, employing armies of slaves to work deep within the mountains, or within the Fire Mountain itself; smithing weapons and armour or being used in blood magic rituals to summon terrifying demons from the Pit. The Demon King has recently made a pact with the Black Dwarves of the East, many are unsure of the terms of this uneasy alliance, but there are whispers in the south that say that Dwarves have a powerful artifact that the King craves…
Bloodmaw Clan
The Gnolls of the Bloodmaw Clan have earned the blessing of the Demon King, through centuries spent raiding and pillaging the southern lands for slaves. As such they are the prominent Slavers within the Gnollish Empire and exert a reasonable amount of influence in matters concerning the clans.

The Scourge Hags, also called the Brides of Ghaal’krûk, are vicious and brutal creatures. Born with the marks of the Demon King, these female Gnolls lead the Clans and Packs of Gnolls with an iron resolve and unwavering loyalty to the Demon King.

All Bloodmaw Gnolls are slavers in one way or another, but to rise to the rank of Slave Master takes decades, sometimes centuries of dedication to the Slaving Arts. As such they command a certain amount of respect and fear from other Gnolls. A War-Pack with a Master Slaver will fight more fiercely and without fear, knowing that the slaver is not far behind with his whip and blades.

When the Gnolls first came to the North and found the Demon King slumbering in his mountain, they believed that they had found their God. The Hounds of Ghaal’krûk are descended from Gnolls who woke the Demon King, and were blessed by him for breaking his terrible curse. Half-Gnoll and Half-Demon these bloodthirsty beasts bound into battle giving little heed to the plans of those that would try to command them.

The Bloodmaw Stalkers are experts at laying traps and ambushes, lying in wait along mountain paths or in dark forests for caravans of traders and travellers. Arguably the best shots in the Bloodmaw Clan, the only flaw these Gnolls have is their desire to “live to fight another day”, which leads to them fleeing if they think the fight is lost.

Gnolls regard Hyenas with a degree of kinship, as both are of common ancestry created by the Carrion God before he was struck down and the Gnolls began their pilgrimage north where they and their Hyena brothers found their new god. Hyenas themselves are tenacious creatures and whole packs will often follow a War-Pack into the south, sometimes as a blessing, sometimes as a burden for the Gnolls that they adopt as pack mates.
